Giving Back
at Jungle’s Edge
At Jungle’s Edge, we are committed to not only providing world-class retreat experiences but also giving back to the Nosara community that has welcomed us so warmly. Our passion for well-being, sustainability, and empowerment extends beyond our guests and into the local community and environment. Here are some of the ways we contribute.
Free Self-Defense Classes for Women
At Jungle’s Edge, we are passionate about community empowerment, and one of our most impactful initiatives has been offering free self-defense classes for local women. Since arriving in Nosara, we've recognized the importance of safety and confidence, especially for women in our community. Our classes are designed to teach practical, life-saving skills that can help women protect themselves in real-life situations, fostering both physical strength and mental resilience.
These sessions not only focus on techniques but also emphasize the mental aspects of self-defense, helping women feel more secure and empowered in their daily lives. We believe that empowerment starts with feeling safe, and these classes are about more than just self-defense—they’re about boosting confidence, independence, and self-reliance.
At Jungle's Edge, we believe that providing women with the tools they need to protect themselves is essential in fostering a safe and empowered community.
Free Boxing Training for Teenagers
We believe in the transformative power of sport and the importance of fostering youth development. That's why we’re proud to offer free boxing training to local teenagers who aspire to become athletes. This initiative is about much more than physical fitness—it's about giving young people a productive, disciplined outlet where they can grow both mentally and physically.
Our free boxing program aims to support the athletic development of teenagers who show interest in the sport. By providing professional training and guidance, we help them refine their skills, set goals, and build the confidence they need to succeed not only in the ring but in life. Boxing teaches discipline, focus, and resilience—traits that are invaluable both in and out of the gym.
Ultimately, by investing in the athletic potential and personal growth of our local teens, we hope to inspire them to dream bigger, work harder, and recognize the power they have within themselves to shape their future.
Our Commitment to Sustainable Agriculture: The Permaculture Garden
At Jungle’s Edge, our permaculture garden is not only a key part of our commitment to sustainability but also a living testament to our belief in nurturing both nature and the community. The garden spans a significant portion of our property and is home to a wide variety of organic fruits and vegetables, grown using sustainable farming practices designed to regenerate and enhance the local ecosystem.
What You Can Expect in Our Garden: Our permaculture garden is a vibrant collection of fruit-bearing trees and plants, offering our guests a unique opportunity to engage with nature while enjoying fresh, organic produce right from the land.
